I love how the Knowles sisters play with their makeup. They can be over the top divas, but they do appreciate the power of a barely there makeup look. After all, looking like Amy Winehouse daily will not win you any admirers in the office. For an easy day to day makeup look, you can do no wrong if you take a leaf out of Beyoncé and Solange’s beauty book.
You’ll need:
-
BB cream
-
Mineral powder foundation
-
Mascara
Get busy:
Apply a BB cream on a cleansed and toned face. I personally prefer a BB cream since it is a serum, moisturizer, primer, light foundation and a sunscreen. Your BB cream should blend seamlessly with your complexion. If it makes you look a tad ashy, look for a shade deeper. My go-to BB cream is the Pond’s Flawless Radiance BB cream in Chocolate. It suites all ethnic complexions and creates a perfect base to apply the powder on.
Apply the mineral powder foundation with a fluffy powder brush to achieve a light and even natural look. The Avon Smooth Mineral Foundation applied on a moisturised face gives a subtle glow, oil control and a longer lasting coverage.
The eyeliner is the easiest to use after the lip balm. Simply place it between your lightly closed eyelids and start gliding it from the outer corner of your eye or just halfway through. Keep gliding until you get the desired intensity. On the bottom eyelid, use your ring finger to smudge and soften the line. Keep an ear bud and an eye makeup remover handy for any excess eyeliner or to neaten up as you go.
Thicken and lengthen the lashes with mascara. Add a touch of a matte gold or bronze eyeshadow on the brow bone, on the corner of the eyes and under the lower eyelashes to make the eyes pop. Use your ring finger for a light application and steer clear of over the top shimmering gold eyeshadow powders.
Moisturise the lips with a hint of colour. A tinted lip balm or a moisturising chubby stick will do perfectly.
Now, go and get them tigress. And, don’t forget your heels!
