Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Skin Lotion

On a 30 degree day, one thing you definitely want is well-hydrated skin that remains nourished despite the unforgiving heat. On the other hand, just the thought of slathering on gloops of lotion is enough to make you forgo any form of moisturiser on a hot day. This was my dilemma; until I tried the Moroccan Argan Oil Skin Lotion from Dr Organic.

The rich, hydrating lotion is easily and quickly absorbed, leaving skin that is silky but not greasy. Full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential oils, Dr Organic promises a blend that restores, hydrates and fights the ageing process by activating the regeneration of skin cells. As I have just begun using the product, I can’t say much for the anti-ageing properties but I can confirm that the product does wonders in keeping my skin smooth, soft and shine-free.

This is the first time I’ve been able to completely moisturise my body in hot weather and not feel uncomfortably sticky or shiny. I used it both at night before going to bed (it feels incredibly lush and luxurious), as well as at the start of the day during which the hydrating properties lasted until I showered again.

The combination of oils and fruit extracts gives the lotion a spicy, herbal smell which I found a welcome change from the usual overpowering floral scents found in most skin lotions. In particular, the smell of cloves linger. Unless you specifically dislike the spice, it’s a pleasant smell which does not interfere too much with any other scents worn on the body.

The popularity of argan oil, traditionally used in hair and skin care in Morrocco, has increased as its incredible nourishing abilities have been discovered. I’ve used argan oil on my hair before and so I was glad to see that it is just as beneficial for my skin. It is used in conjunction with an impressive list of other organic ingredients that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans as well.

Dr Organic does not test on animals, and is free of harsh chemicals that interfere with the skin. I would definitely purchase the product and recommend it to others, especially to vegan and health conscious friends.

My skin absorbs it in beautifully, it does not leave an oily residue on my skin but you can see and feel my skin is moisturized and glowing.
