Dermaceutic Skincare
HotA skincare range that won't break the bank, I was first introduced to Conquest, after winning a competition and reviewed their MD Lash Factor, eyelash conditioner. Since then, I have built a relationship with their amazing team of professionals and was eager to try their skincare range called Dermaceutic. I was pregnant when we originally started discussing working together, again, and we pushed the trial to after the birth of Axl. It has been a long time since our original meeting (I must apologise for the delay in this post, but I will explain the back and forth of it all) I met up with Melanie and her husband who went through their lovely range of products, being sure to explain the aims of each and how they should be used. Dermaceutic wants to offer doctors and patients a home range that works well with professional skin peels. Their range works hand-in-hand in preparing the skin for peels as well as the maintenance care after a peel. It can also be used on its own to help alleviate common skin problems like acne, pigmentation, aging skin, fine lines, etc. I have never had perfect skin, when I get a spot, it tends to dry out completely and scab. It is horrible when I get that monthly breakout which leaves my face looking and feeling dry and scarred. Skincare routines weren’t really a priority on my list until recently when I started including natural and organic products. I have seen results, in the past, but I am still looking for ways to combat my scars and dryness, without irritating my already sensitive skin or causing more harm than there already is. Melanie introduced me to a skincare regime but after a month into it, I contacted Justine who assisted me. You see, as mentioned, I had never really used “chemical” facial products, that and the fact that I breastfeed (too many hormones not to mention) was originally overlooked and who knew it was such an essential part of the puzzle. In short, my face originally reacted terribly as my skincells were overactive, producing more oil than needs be and resulted in a breakout. Conquest has an admirable team of professionals who saw it as their responsibility to fix this pimple-faced teenage skin, up. They sent over new products and instructed me on how to treat the breakout.

I am slowly introducing the cleanser, into my daily routine. I started by using it every 3-4 days, and am building up to a daily usage. The reason I have introduced it so slowly, is the glycolic acid is something that my skin isn’t necessarily used to and I don’t want to cause my skin to go into overdrive again.
I swapped out my Foamer 15 for Cleanser 5, as the cleanser had less Glycolic acid. Dermaceutic is one of the first ranges to introduce glycolic acid into home-care products. It’s a nifty little molecule which penetrates the skin to accelerate exfoliation by destroying the links that bind dead skin cells together. As mentioned, my skin becomes exceptionally dry and flaky, after including the cleanser into my routine, I noticed that my skin did achieve the result of becoming smoother, while my pores tightened and contracted.
