I've used amla oil on and off waiting for a miracle to happen and to my surprise nothing happened.. why? Because I have used it once or twice every other month.. for the past 4 months I've used it religiously twice to thrice a week depending on my shedule and I can see a significant difference in the thickness of my hair as well as how healthy it looks now..

This product is incredibly effective on dry, brittle and damaged hair. However, my skin broke out terribly when I used this product,'which is unusual for me because I've always had clear skin, even through my teenage years!

Can be purchased at Dischem at R14.50

Comes in a little green bottle with a volume of 100ml.

I usually put this on at night before I go to bed and leave it in over night.

( Ps cover your head or pillow, because it WILL make your hair oily)

It is a green coloured oil and has a relatively strong smell ( at least it doesn't smell bad )

It isn't that oily, so shampooing once to get it off is enough.

It also leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy.

After the all so brave cutting of my hair needless to say i wasn’t really as fabulous as i thought i would be with a not so sleek Victoria hair pixie bob.. in a frantic desire to grown back my long hair i turned (almost as a last resort after chewing bob martin tablets and trying weird shampoo for horses... i was DESPERATE okay?!) Amla oil, an Indian friend of mine swore by it and when i stumbled upon it at my local store i gave it a try...
The results- AMAZING! everyone comments constantly at how my hair has grown as if more and more each day, i think the massaging of my scalp also has an effect but the oil not only helps with my growth but also nourishes my hair leaving it feeling soft and hydrated- the smell is a little pungent and spicy but its better than the taste of pet pills haha! i use it once a week and leave it in my hair overnight with a shower cap over my hair- wash and condition as normal and Vola!!

Growing up my mom always used to put Coconut Oil in my hair once a week to keep it in tip top shape and as I moved out on my own I gave up this practice however in the last year I have started alternating Coconut Oil with Amla Oil every other week as an additional Hair Treatment. I live and work in a Private Game Reserve and our water is bore hole water with a very high lime content which I has found leeches all the nutrients out of my hair leaving it dry, brittle and prone to breaking. Since introducing these oils into my routine my hair has never been softer and the new growth since then is so shiny and healthy! To use I massage it into my scalp and leave it overnight washing it out the next morning to leave my hair feeling and looking divine!

Got this for R 25 from the spice shop cos recently at work I've discovered lots of people use this! Even dark n lovely has come out with its own amla oil! It's a 100 ml plastic bottle with a deep green thin but not runny oil which has a sweet n pleasant oil! The only problem i have with the bottle is its wide neck and and you can pour out too much! This oil contains;
Amla: Nourishes and strengthens hair from the roots to make it long, strong and beautiful
Almonds: Moisturizes and softens hair
Henna: Coats and conditions to provide a lustrous shine
How to use?
Use Dabur Amla Gold Hair oil by gently massaging the oil into the scalp and the hair's roots. Leave in for several hours and wash out. Regular use makes the hair silky, shiny and easy to style.well worth the spend! You have to try this at least once!

As much as I love my original Moroccan Hair Oil, while on holiday in India a few weeks back, I couldn't carry my precious oil with me, and in the first week I could see signs of my hair getting dry and I needed an extra moisture boost, so my next pharmacy visit, I picked up a bottle of Amla Gold Hair Oil for approximately R15 for a 100ml bottle. It was really affordable, and this Gold edition was especially for dry, damaged and chemically treated hair. It is said to make hair long, strong, soft and shiny.

So honestly, Amla hair oil is no stranger to me, while growing up this was a popular hair oil and has been around for over 30 years. I remember my mother using it on my hair growing up for soft silky hair, so I was quite interested in sharing my findings about the Amla Gold with my readers. So I've been using this hair oil once a week in my hair, and wow... I can feel my hair a lot more silkier, normally I have some hair fall, but I've noticed my hair is falling less as well, if it counts, my Tangle Teezer glides through my hair so much more easily now.

The Amla Gold Hair Oil contains:
Amla- to nourish and strengthen hair from the roots to make it long, strong and beautiful.
Almonds- to moisturise and soften hair
Henna- to coat and condition hair and give it shine.

The oil is an olive colour and has a regular oil consistency. So this was a perfect excuse for a relaxing head massage, because you can't really use this oil after washing hair, so I would recommend using it as a pre wash leave in treatment. The scent is quite strong and musky, but it is traditional so I really love it. After washing my hair thoroughly and removing all of the oil, my hair was so shiny and soft, I loved it. So going a little traditional and old school has it's benefits. If you spot this one around, I'd recommend you give it a try!
