As a child I use to have this silky white blond hair which shined like crazy and this was the only shampoo I use to use. One thing Ill never forget about my childhood was the compliments I got and people wanting to know what do I wash my hair with ;-).
But as with any natural beauty as soon as you start to add treatment/hairspray/color/bleach etc etc it disappear and your hair needs that extra uhmm to keep up with the pace.
Now a days I use this shampoo once a month maybe twice to strip my hair of any product buildup that the other very stimulating shampoos just cant seem to do like Colgate. I think part of the success in this product is the fact that the packaging stayed almost exactly the same since then which kind of makes it into a family tradition/remembrance item and giving you that warm fuzzy, missing home feeling.
And after all these years the smell still blows me away like it did, its got this extremely fresh smell to it that really last and last in your hair.
For the product itself I lades up very easily and the conditioned also feels great but since I have very fine and fragile hair I find myself needing a shampoo that nourishes a little bit more.
You will find that after every Colgate wash your hair tend to be static like mad, which is a great indication that all the excess product residue and build-up of products, which leaves your hair limped down, is striped away.
I think I'll always have this in my house even though I don't use it that much, then just to smile and reminding me of the good old days!
I honestly didn't expect this anti dandruff shampoo would help with my occasional boots of dry scalp but I was tempted to try ,so I did and I saw and felt a difference after one use ! Not only that ,it made my hair quite shiny and smelling fresh . I've used the other variants in the range and this one is by far the best. I would however use it every now and then because in my experience prolonged use is drying to my hair.
This for me is ok to use once in a while ,i think i mostly buy it because i remember my mom used to when we were little . Back then it worked great but now that I've put my hair through the wringer countless times,it needs more than this shampoo can offer. What i like is the clean feeling it gives my hair ,removes build up and smells nice . so this is what i occasionally use it for.
If you looking for something that's cheap and going to cleanse your hair well you should try this. The have quite a few different variants and lathers up quite well.
Hair is left clean and smelling fresh doesn't tangle my hair either
This for me is an all time favourite that lasts long in my home .
A little goes a long way with this.
I bought this shampoo in the apple variant because I needed a mild shampoo to wash my hair with. Also, I like to add a little something extra to my shampoo like vinegar or rosemary or lemon juice and it always helps.
I have never had any problems using this shampoo and always return to buy another bottle for under R 20.
This was one of the shampoos my mom would buy when we were kids and to this day I still buy it from time to time . It's a good shampoo but I don't use it often as I have frizzy hair that needs lots of moisture and this is not so moisturising however using it together with the conditioner makes a big difference .It cleans up my hair by getting rid of build up and it makes it feel light. Smells lovely too, especially the apple variant.
I've used the egg n brandy and apple variety before! I even buy them for my children from time to time! Personally i think they are fairly decent quality! For me though i would use it as a clarifying or deep cleansing preshampoo as i have coloured fine highlighted thick long hair! It lathers into a rich foam and is a real save when it comes to the children and how they love bath time and overdo all the products in the bathroom! An economic and worthwhile spend just be sure you use conditioner after as hair is drier after and in my case squeaky clean but tangled!
Cheap and fuss free packaging. One of the better ones on the market for a steal but I wouldn't use it everyday as it does strip hair of all its moisture.
This a very inexpensive shampoo which I use when I have box braids or twists. This stops me from wasting my favourite shampoo as more shampoo is required during washing due to the bulkiness of the extensions used to braid or twist. I moisturise my hair and braids immediately afterward washing. It is great for removing scalp build-up. However, I do not use this shampoo directly on my ethnic, relaxed hair as it tends to leave it dry and lifeless. The bottles are pretty and colourful.
I would buy these shampoos just to get the different colours and line them up in my bathroom. The shape and look of the bottle has remained more or less the same so its easily recognisable on shelves.
Its a great product if you happen to be on holiday and realize that you've forgotten to bring along your shampoo. The shampoo doesn't lather very well but it gets the job done.
Although this product is very cost effective, this product is not for me.
My hair is hard as a rock after using it and i cannot even get a fine tooth comb through my hair in order to brush it. I would not reccomend this product to anyone.
I have been using this shampoo for many years especially when my budget is tight, great range for different hair types and also works wonders for my sons curly hair. The fragrances leaves your hair smelling great.
I have baught and used Colgate Shampoo before and it works so good especially if you have a build up on the scalp really good shampoo for the first wash
I have to agree that thesea re by far one of the cheapest yet most effective shampoos I have ever come across. Works wonders and the fragrances are not bad.
