Claudia Stevens - Facial Prep Foundation Base

After hearing someone mention this primer, I decided to give it a go.

First thing I noticed was that the tube is much smaller than the box, so I felt a little disappointed, but for the price (about R60) I really couldn't complain!

As I put it on, I noticed how silky smooth it made my skin feel. It gives a great matt finish and really helps my makeup to go better, and stay looking good for longer.

Some people have said that it is as good as the Smashbox primer, but for a fraction of the price - I have not used the Smashbox primer so I cannot compare, but I would say this is the best primer that I have used so far.

For the price, you really can't go wrong!

The best thing about this product is the price! Such good value for money. Where else can you find a primer for under R100. It goes on silky smooth and does not clog the pores. Makes my foundation go a lot further and last much longer.

I started being interested in primers since watching Lori's skincare video(thanks Lori :)) This product is great and has totally changed how my foundation looks and feels. and I actually believe that it is better than mac!

Firstly, if you look at the ingredients of both
products, Claudia Stevens primer contains things
that are good for the skin such as:
Chicory root extract: helps heal skin lacerations
and sunburn.
Algae extract: normalize the skin’s moisture
content and a great protective barrier for skin.
Vitamin E: anti aging benefits, sun protection and
moisture balance.
Besides that, it doesn’t have that yucky cosmetic
smell. And it comes in a convenient squeezy tube.

Just like Chicara I was also on the look out for the Palladio Herbal Primer at Dischem but was told that it was sold out. I'm relatively new at using a primer so I wanted to start out with a less expensive product to see if it made a difference before shelling out money for the very pricey Smashbox Photo-finish primer. I really love this product as it has a mattifying effect and really helps to hold my foundation on especially over sunscreen. My favourite foundation Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse is notorious for not lasting for the entire day but over this primer is stays like a champ. It make foundation apply more smoothly and doesn't clog my pores or break me out. I think I'll be sticking with this primer from now on.

I was looking for the Palladio foundation primer, but it was sold out at all the Dis-Chem stores I tried. One of the beauty consultant ladies recommended this primer as a good alternative. It's one of the more affordable primers available and for me the quality is just as great.

It's a clear gel product like most primers are. It's silky smooth and glides onto the skin leaving your skin so soft. My foundation now applies much easier and looks so much more professional. My makeup doesn't move or change color. I am loving this product.

It hasn't clogged my pores and it even slightly moisturises my skin.
