Clarins Instant Definition Mascara

Was really excited when i received this mascara as the packaging was really swanky and mod. The colour was a surprise because at first i thought it was a shade of brown but when i used it i could see it was a shade of like browny-plum colour. The wand tip is really fantastic as it bends with the stroke of the eyelash and the brissles actually move with the hair. The bristles are actually great too as they are act like a comb and move between the lashes quite nicely to avoid any clumping. This mascara is a winner for day and night because it as not as harsh as black during the day but sultry enough to wear at night with a smokey eye. LOVE IT

I was a Clarins consultant for 2 years and this is 1 mascara that does what it says in terms of volume and definition. The packaging is luxurious and stunning. The other colours are gorgeous when applied as well. It also contains natural extracts which make it excellent for sensitive eyes.It is definitely worth every cent!

I’ll admit it; I was pretty intimidated by this makeup mascara after reading on the label that it was an intense plum hue. I thought my lashes would look really purple and stand out in a way I didn’t want it to. But, this mascara did anything but that! In fact, I was very impressed by the colour as well as the definition I got from using this product.

Usually really black mascara can make your lashes look fake and over dramatic. The great thing about this mascara is that it does not make your lashes look like false ones because of the colour. It’s still as intense, but not too intense. It adds just the right amount of colour and definition to give you that natural look that you want every day.

The best quality about this product is its applicator brush. What a masterpiece! It allows you to use it even on the shortest lash which makes applying mascara less frustrating in these difficult places. I also found that this mascara lasts long and does not smudge or fade. It did, however, clump a bit.

I love this colour mascara and its applicator. I would recommend this cosmetic to anyone that wants good quality colour mascara that’s not too dramatic, but still makes a difference.

love this mascara it is the first mascara i have tried that actaually stays put the whole day and doesn't flake or make me look like i have a black eye by the end of the day so no touch ups or clean ups needed plus because my lashes are fairly short the top part of the brush is perfect for reaching every lash and getting my bottom lashes too. formula is great too

I received a sample of Clarin's new Instant Definition Mascara in the limited edition Stuttafords Glossybox. I've been using the mascara for just over a week now and am finally at a point where I can review the mascara.

I was quite intrigued by the design of the wand. The tip of the wand has ribber bristles and the rest of the wand has traditional bristles. In theory a person is suppose to use the traditional wand to apply the mascara to the lashes and then use the tip of the wand to separate and define each lash.

The traditional bristles work well at coating each lash with the mascara. The formula is relatively thick but nice and smooth. I personally did not need to use the tip of the wand to separate my lashes as they already were beautifully defined.

When using the rubber tip of the wand I found that it actually caused my lashes to stick together - not exactly what I'd hoped for. I think this is because a lot of formula collects on tip of the wand. I've played around with the wand but I have not found it to be all that useful or effective. But it could be that I just don't know how to use it properly. I give this mascara a 3 for effectiveness because the tip of the wand was not useful to me at all and did not work for me and because this mascara is marketed based on that tip being the selling point it doesn't deserve a higher score. But the main brush deserves at least a 4 out of 5.

The mascara lasts well throughout the day and washes off easily with some face wash and warm water.

My Verdict
At R215 I don't think this is any better than other mascaras I have used that are half the price and I definitely don't think I will purchase a full size. The formula is very good though, which is what you expect from a brand like Clarins.
