It satisfied my curiousity but not something I would use often.

There is a variety of colour combos one can go for with Crackle polish. You can layer it over neon or metallic colours to get enough of a contrast in colour. I layered it over a medium creme red to get it more toned down. I must say it didn't completely blow me away.

My nails were already dry from the manicure the day before. I put on the polish in a fairly thin layer. Thin layer is meant to give smaller but denser cracks whereas a thick layer would give thick cracks. Well, after I did the first hand only a couple of nails crackled at all (one of them is on the photo). I waited and waited but no more cracks. I had to go over with another layer of the polish and then got the thick cracks. I have no idea why it didn't work straight away :-( and it is my second attempt.

The finish is very rubbery and a tad bit ugly. When my husband saw it he went: WHAT THE HELL happened to your nails?! Adding the top coat definitely helps a bit but it still gives off a plasticky look and you can definitely see the uneven surface.

Overall, I am a tad bit underwhelmed. It is not as easy to work with as I had hoped but it is still possible.
The look of crackle is very grunge and that's not the style I normally go for. It is probably great fun for teenagers. I personally don't find the effect classy enough being a business woman. If you are into fun punk rock vibes you will definitely enjoy it though! I am still going to use mine on holidays etc and will carry on experimenting over other colours but I wouldn't call this an absolute must-have.
