I have the green primer and the pink illuminating primer. Both were a waste of money. The green one doesn't do what its supposed to and blends away completely and the illuminating one also doesn't really leave that glow that I was expecting.

I really like this product. It's a great primer and obviously a great price as is Catrice in general. The only thing it is lacking is being more moisturizng, I do have really dry skin so I just make sure to put a good moisturiser on before-hand.

Other primers left me looking blotchy by midday. This certainly stayed good all day, keeping my makeup looking fresh.

These are great! I have the white tube and the pink tube, for different reasons - the white is great for controlling shine and perfecting pores, as well as makeup longevity, and the pink gives a glow and helps to blur imperfections by reflecting light.
Both work well and are worth trying out!

I'm a firm believer that a good primer equals a good makeup day. So when I saw this product, and its inexpensive price, I thought I'd give it a go.
I purchased the green Prime and Fine Primer as I have very fair skin, so any redness usually shows through my foundation. Now Catrice promises that this primer minimizes shine and reduces pore visibility whilst giving skin a mattifying look. This is not the case at all. Aside from the weird scent, the product just really does not work. It has a greasy feeling after applying it to the skin, and to be honest, the green does not do much. My face was very oily after about only 2 hours of wear (under my usual foundation), and my makeup came off with the slightest touch (it would transfer on my glasses etc.)
I gave this primer a shot a few times, and switched up my makeup application, but was left disappointed every time.
Bottom line - it's really not worth it!

I was never a fan of primers because I always questioned their purpose, until I found Catrice Prime and Fine. I love the tube its packaged in, as its easy to carry around in my handbag for quick touch-ups during the day. It is fragrance free and I love the texture! It sets my make-up nicely and gives my skin an airbrush finish!
This product is definitely a re-purchase and Catrice has never disappointed with their quality of make-up!

This was the very first primer that I ever tried. I thought it was appropriate when I looked at the price.
I have oily (combination skin) and this primer didn't help to minimise shine throughout the day. I tried it with and without a setting spray and my make up seemed to make it to the end of the day when I had the setting spray on. Without the setting spray, I found myself having to blot and freshen up almost every 2 hours. This is not ideal for a person who works all day.
I've tried it on my t-zone only and on my entire face too and I end up with the same shine and admin regardless.
It does help to reduce the appearance of my pores and in turn my make up feels like it sits on my face better. This paired with a good facial expert brush for application seemed to be a good combination.
It probably works better for people who have dry skin, but I would not repurchase it again.
It's priced reasonably well.

I recently purchased the Prime and Fine (pore refining anti-shine base) by Catrice Cosmetics. I have really come to love this product. It works great for my skin type and keeps my makeup in place for hours. I'm sure there are other brands out there that probably work ten times better but this product works great for me. I have very sensitive skin and this product works great.

I do think the anti-shine base primer makes provision for a smooth make-up application. It just does not control oil at all. I would not repurchase this product, but for someone with dry skin it will probably work better as it does not dry the skin out.
The price is probably the best thing about this primer, but I would rather pay more for better results!

This was the first primer I ever bought because it was so reasonably priced, but after using it, I did not notice any difference, and the green one has glitter particles which my foundation didn't cover which in result made it look like I put shimmer all over my face, after using the MAC prep and prime, this primer is really not that effective

I love most Catrice products - especially their price tags! ;)
I LIKE this primer - not my absolute favorite, but it does the job at a very affordable price. :)
- preps your face for foundation
- a bit too shimmery for me (contains glitter particles)
- The green does eliminate some redness in the skin, but not majorly.
- Average compared to MAC prep and prime

I am having mixed feelings with this product at the moment. The reason for that being is that I have also been testing the new Yardley illuminating primer.
When you test two products, you cannot help but draw comparisons. Yes, to be totally unbiased, the Catrice primer does create a smooth canvas and there are no sight of pores, and yes it does assist in my foundation staying on longer.
But I am not loving it. I am liking it.

Having bought a few Catrice products and loved them, I thought I would give the primer a try. Unfortunately it didn't do much for my skin and there is an insane amount of glitter in the product.

I purchased the Catrice Prime and Fine Anti-Red Base because I struggle with terrible red pigmentation in my skin, especially in my T-zone.
I'm sad to say this product is basically unusable to me, purely due to the fact that it contains an insane amount of glitter! It basically made my face look like a disco ball! It is a pity, because the product is reasonably priced and has quite a nice texture to it - applies easily and is non-greasy. It did also help to refine my pores, and I found it helped slightly in covering up the redness, but definitely not as much as I would have liked.
All in all, I would give this primer another try if the amount of glitter in it was corrected.

I was looking for a primer since using MAC's - obviously stopped purchasing because of the price after becoming more budget savvy (:
I purchased this product from Dischem after reading the reviews on here and the great price. My face has a slight red tinge to it which I can not stand, it really isn't that bad - but you know when something bothers you but no one else sees it?! Well it's like that... Unfortunately it doesn't do much for the redness but works ok as a primer.
ALSO it has a shimmer to it. I apply it after my moisturizer, before my foundation. The foundation takes away some of the shimmer but I'd prefer no shimmer at all. For that reason I won't purchase the Anti-Red Base again, but I'll try the Pore Refining Anti Shine one! Why not!
It applies smoothly but not as silicone'y as I know MAC's to be. But it absorbs nicely, I sometimes apply twice. My pores do look smaller which I love. That's why I'll try the Pore Refining Anti Shine one which I hope will help a bit with my oily skin, although I think this one does to some extent too.
Great primer as a budget choice; it refined my pores slightly but no luck reducing redness.

I've been looking for a primer for quite some time now but the only primers I have been seeing are super expensive and I was on a strict budget so had to look for a more affordable option .
I was walking around Dischem looking for an affordable primer I could test out and came across the Catrice Prime And Fine Pore Refining Anti Shine Base. This Catrice primer which only retails for about R80 which is quite affordable in comparison with other primers like Smashbox or Revlon.
I was a bit surprised when I squeezed out some of the product and found that it wasn't a silky silicon formula that I know most primers have , the Catrice primer looks like an ordinary moisturiser with a white creamy substance . I squeezed out a tiny drop of the primer and rubbed it well in to my skin.
My first impressions:
In this instance what you pay for is really what I got. This primer just didn't give me the flawless celebrity look I was hoping for, it did however leave my face with a matte finish. honestly I really didn't see it make much of a difference besides leaving my face matte , it didn't do what a primer should do which is to make my foundation last longer.
I expected much more from Catrice as I know they have amazing quality products that so many others have raved about.
This primer just didn't work for me. I do think it might work better with someone who has bigger pores to help prevent it from being so noticeable and for someone who suffers from oily skin and not dry skin like I do.
Atleast I wasn't too disappointed with the money I wasted on buying this primer because it didn't cost too much, still sad that this didn't work for me though. Hopefully other Catrice primers would do a better job, I personally wont be repurchasing the Catrice Prime And Fine Pore Refining Anti base

I love a good 'budget' buy and this Catrice primer is most certainly one of those successful finds! The Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining primer is expected to be mattifying, long lasting and oil free. I did find this primer to create a mattifying effect, especially when applying my foundation over the primer. This primer was relatively long lasting, well long enough for me at least and the oil-free element was beneficial too as I generally have an oily skin type.
This primer is packaged in a relatively small tube (a great size to toss into your handbag) and the packaging is clean and simple. The primer fluid is a creamy white colour and it blends in effortlessly when applying. This primer also has no scent and feels gentle on my skin. For those of you who struggle with redness, I suggest that you give the anti-red base primer a go!

I purchase the Catrice Prime and Fine primer in the green shaded option for skin that is prone to redness. I battle with some broken capillaries around my cheeks and nose area due to incessant nose blowing from allergies. Because of this endless I like to try to 'mask' this.
This primer is so well priced it almost feels like your cheating! It is a smooth gel like consistency and absorbs into the skin leaving it covered, smooth, with reduced pores and an even base to carry on with the rest of your make up.
I do find that this shade of green is a bit too dark and that it melts into your skin a bit too fast and sometimes doesn't cover all the red areas that you want but that is quickly trumped by adding another layer and then continuing with your makeup routine.

What is a Foundation Primer?
The Primer easers application of foundation and are meant to create a barrier between foundation and skin.
Top reasons I wanted to try Catrice Prime and Fine:
-I’m a budget girl, so I’m always on the look out for inexpensive products, however I don’t expect the highest results unless I bet my money on it, meaning R450 price range or more. The Catrice Primer retails for R79
-My skin tends to become oily by 11am during working hours and powdering my face constantly, annoys the shit out of me + my pores are somewhat enlarged on both sides of my nose area
Texture: It feels a nice mix of gel/cream.
Feel: Minimal stickiness. Once absorbed it is fairly touchable and not uncomfortable.
Moisture: Moisturises well
Smell: Not much of a scent (which is ideal for sensitive skins)
