I don't know if there will every be a beauty sponge that will not be compared to the sensational original Beauty Blender, but unfortunately I'm a victim of this mentality.
As much as I absolutely adore Cala brushes, the beauty sponge does well but is no match for the Beauty Blender.
This Cala Beauty Blending Sponge is amazing, it blends makeup effortlessly, it doesn't absorb too much product, it's super affordable and it looks cute
I enjoy Cala tools as they are affordable and effective. This Cala sponge was loved, maybe loved a little too much, by this makeup lover. The pink is super cute and it is a great quality tool that blends my L.A girl HD foundation like a dream!!!
I use it dampened and it just gets the job done seamlessly. I use the flat round bottom part for my face foundation and the pointier tip for blending out concealer, cream contour etc. I washed it every 2-3 weeks or so. DON'T JUDE ME! Lol.
This sponge however will need to be replaced after a while. Mine lasted a good 5,6 months or so being used every single day. But one day, I followed a pinterest hack on cleaning my sponge with salt etc. in the microwave and it shrunk to almost nothing and never recovered. Just buy a new one LOL.
Cala is definitely a dupe to the high end make up brushes. I love thee brushes as well n the sponge is amazing. It blends effortlessly n it doesn't absorb too much product
This product is my baby! It is an item I ALWAYS will continue to buy time and time again. I clean my CALA beauty sponge after every second use and let it dry in the open air and it lasts for 5 months until I need to replace it. It blends my foundation, concealer, contour, highlight; YOU NAME IT, to an absolutely flawless finish.
This is the best make up tool ever. I don't think it's possible for me to use make up without using a beauty blender. It's blends the products properly on to your skin but I soaks up most of the product (foundation) besides that it's a really good make up tool to have.
Wonderful sponge but I don't like how it sucks up most of the foundation, it's easy to wash but definitely starts to tear up. I would recommend investing in a high-end beauty blender. For R60 it's okay but if you're not willing to keep replacing it, STAY AWAY
This a great blending sponge at such an affordable price. I prefer applying my foundation with a brush then following up with this sponge for an airbrushed and blended look. It doesn't soak up the product and blends really well. The sponge is very easy to clean but after a few washes it does tear up but they're so cheap, around R60 so it doesn't hurt to replace it.
I prefer using a beauty sponge to a brush to blend my makeup as I feel the finish is more natural. This one from Cala is great. It is affordable, has a good density when wet, and bounces nicely across the skin without absorbing too much product. I use it every day and wash it often, and it is holding up well with no tears.
I really enjoyed using the Cala beauty blender. Their brushes are quiet amazing as well. The beauty blender is very durable and easy to work with. It makes applying make-up much much easier and quicker. I absolutely love it. Cala is amazing because their products are very affordable compared to other brands, which is the cherry on top.
I love Cala brushes and sponges, they are all so affordable and really good quality.
It applies product so evenly and because the blender has different angles you can apply your normal foundation, powders and contouring shade with it, without the products mixing.
I was excited to find a similar shaped beauty sponge to the og beautyblender at such an affordable price!
A few months later I bought the og beautyblender, to see if it's really that much different and better than the Cala Beauty Sponge. I was surprised to find that this sponge gives the exact same finish as the beautyblender, at a fraction of the price! Although the beautyblender is softer, less dense and a little more bouncier, it's just the same as this beauty sponge.
For the price, I would definitely save some money and repurchase this one instead.
If you LOVE watching beauty videos on youtube like me, you will know the word Beauty Blender...It is a makeup sponge with a pointy end for precision work and a flat, rounded end of bigger areas in the shape of a tear drop. These are expensive up until now, was hard to find in S.A.
Then CALA came out with their own version which I immediately bought and boy have I been loving it. I used it the 1st time along with my BB Cream as I wanted a really natural dewy finish. I don't like looking caked up. And it worked wonders! Then I started using it dampened along with my foundation and I was even happier with the result. If you want full coverage though whether using a BB cream or foundation, I wouldn't suggest using this sponge but a brush rather or your hands. I use this sponge when my skin is looking and feeling great and I just want some colour to even out my face.
It washes out really easily as well and dries quickly. It is also a great tool for blending out concealer!
SAY WHAT? BEAUTY BLENDER??????????
Yes thanks BB's I bought Cala Beauty Blending Sponge a month ago and it works like a charm. I use it damp for flawless foundation, thanks my fellow BB's
Recently discovered this product. When dampened, it expands quite a bit and is not very dense which is great. The shape is good as it has both a rounded side and a pointy side. The hourglass-like curve ensure a good grip when pouncing on foundation. The only issue I have is that it seems to tear after washing it a few times. But it is so inexpensive, it's really not a big deal to buy a new one.
I love CALA makeup brushes, so when I heard there was a sponge, I had to get one. I was not disappointed. It's so soft and gives such an amazing flawless finish on my foundation. Some days I think I've used a filter on my selfies, and it's 100% me. #NoFilter
You need this sponge in your life. I also use it for powder under my eyes.
After much hesitation I finally bought a beauty blender. I have always used a foundation brush from Bobby Brown that works wonders. Lets just say im probably never going to use any brush again. The Beauty Blender is such a perfect little applicator for foundation, concealer and powder. i can apply my foundation in half the time now and it gives such a flawless finish. the foundation just goes everywhere you want it to go.
I was actually looking for a more expensive beauty blender like the Ubu one but they seemed to be sold out everywhere. I found the Cala beauty blender at Dischem for about R53 and decided to get it since I had no other options. I took the last one on the shelf and now I wish they had more stock because I would love to buy another one.
When I first used the blender I wasnt quite sure of what everyone's idea of damp was.
So I just ran the blender back and forth under light running water two or three times and it turned out to be perfect - so I just always do it like that. I then dot the foundation onto my face in random places and then just "dab" the blender until the foundation is perfectly flawless. I then set it with a powder and I have a perfectly matt, pore free base to work on.
I highly recommend a beauty blender. And clearly the cheaper ones do as just a good job as the highly over priced ones.
I have both the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and two of the original Beauty Blenders, and I adore them all. Nothing makes my foundation blend or sink into my skin better.
I read a few reviews on the Cala sponge, and decided that it was definitely worth a go, at such a good price.
I don't regret it at all! Such a fab sponge, it isn't QUITE up there with the others, but it does such a fantastic job at a fraction of the price.
I think i've found the holy grail of Beauty Blender Dupes.
okay firstly .. you should know that i dont like beauty blender because well , i love coverage and the coverage that i get from my duo fiber brush is all i need but as you also know i'm a sucker for CALA products. I purchased my first brush a while back and i've been hooked on the quality and affordability.
This little nifty guy comes in a clear box like packaging and is not shaped in the conventional egg-like beauty blender shape so it makes it easy for almost anyone
(dummies included) to use.
First damp the sponge like you would the beauty blender (not dripping) but just enough.
This insures that non of your foundation or concealer seeps through the sponge.
this blends like a dream and give you that air brushed look we all want.
Im so inlove with this i'me getting another just ... well just coz i love it!
With so many new beauty tools on the market you want to try them all but you don't want to break the budget doing so. And for me one of those tools was the infamous beauty Blender/Sponge what we have seen and heard a lot about, the great quick and easy tool used to blend your make up to give a more natural look. The Blender has been around for some time and they can be a bit on the pricey side.
The Beauty sponge is used to blend your make up fast and easy where the pointed end used for the eye and nose area to get to those hard to reach spots and the base end which is more flat used to blend the make on the rest of your face. I will admit I am a brush kind of girl just because I enjoy using them, so when I saw this Sponge in store I had to give it a try. The Cala brand is a name I've known for awhile they make great affordable make up brushes which I use and have no complaints about and they are stocked at Dis-chem stores nationwide.
So if you are looking are looking for a Beauty sponge which is budget friendly and does not make you breaking the bank is a steal at only R59.99 in stores the Cala Beauty sponge is worth the buy. It is a great buy for your all around beauty blending and contouring. An original Beauty Blender can retail for R398 which can be a bit steep on the pocket, and other known brands retail at under R200 so the Cala Beauty Sponge is a steal at that price.
