Spring is all about rebirth and rejuvenation and summer is all about colour and lots of it, so don’t you grab some colourful makeup and show it? Colour is a central trend right now from lurid neons to hot pink lipstick; it’s all about bright colour people! I have to admit when it comes to trying out pops of colour in my makeup routine, I’ve been a bit shy to this trend. I always feel a bit clownish with bright pink lips and I have this unmistakable feeling that the entire world is staring at me but my confidence has slowly been growing.
A growing trend in the world of beauty right now is the rise of the chubby lippies such as the popular Clinique Chubby Stick moisturising lip colour. I found this the best way to transition myself to the colour trend as it’s the easiest.
The first one I ever tried out was the Clinique Chubby Stick however the colour was called Richer Raison which is more of a plum but their range is huge with 15 colours in total. What is also great is, it doubles up as a blusher if you all out. Handy right?!
Next is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, this has become a firm favourite of mine. Not only does it moisturize my lips it also provides great colour. I have 2, one being a nude called Precious and a light pink one called Lovesick. I find both are great for everyday work and daytime. Read a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain review
Yesterday while trawling my local Woolies I discovered their new Woolworth’s Chubby Crayon offering and it’s absolutely divine. I tried out the brightest pink of the lot and it looked fabulous. It glided on effortlessly, had a hint of sheen and moisturized my lips and the best part is, it stayed on for ages! It retails for R90 which makes it the cheapest of the chubbies.
So ladies, its summer so best you bring on the makeup brightness.
