While researching the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, I also read a couple of reviews on the Healthy Balance Unifying Powder. On the packaging is says that it’s hydrating and anti-shine. That sounds good to me. I have to apply powder as I can get shiny very quickly, but the down side is that my skin can look cakey when using too much, and powder likes to settle in fine lines and that just makes me look even older. Not a good look for anyone. The first time I used the powder I thought that I wasted my money and that it would be heading to the bin. I prefer to apply powder with a sponge, pressing it into my skin and then I knock off the excess with a brush. This is the way that I usually apply my translucent powder. This powder made me look like an extra in Charlie and the Chocolate factory… Oompa Loompa orange is not my colour. After a couple of days I decided to try it again, but applying it with a light hand and a powder brush. Now I love it. The sales lady at Clicks advised me to purchase the powder in the same shade as the Healthy Mix foundation (53 for me), but I recommend that you perhaps try a shade lighter (the powder can darken when applied over your foundation). That is what I’m going to do. Yes, I will be repurchasing. This is why: the powder is super fine, leaves my skin glowing and not overly matte (which can make my skin look dry) and it provides a bit of coverage as well. It doesn’t keep the shine away for 10 hours as it states on the packaging, but I would love to see the powder that can do that (with my skin).
