Hi there ladies and welcome to my new monthly/bi-monthly beauty on a budget article for Beauty Bulletin.
I love myself a good dupe/bargain like any girl and what better way but to share these with all you lovely ladies out there!
Hopefully you all had a chance to read first two beauty diary entries if not please read my articles on bargain vs splurge beauty products and another on which beauty products to save on.
Today I want to share with you three bargains I found during the month of September 2013.
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stains
Firstly, there was an awesome special running at Clicks and it was R110 for two Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stains. I have been waiting and waiting for Bourjois Colour Boost chubby sticks to arrive in South Africa and while I wait for that, I’ve came across this bargain!
I got shade 035 – Charm which is a lovely coral colour and 045 – Romantique. I was so impressed with the pigment in these chubby sticks. They leave lips with a subtle stain after the glossiness has worn off a bit. A few people complain about the smell of them but I really have not noticed any smell. These have become my go-to-lippys this month. If Clicks still have this sale option on, I definitely suggest checking it out. One lipstick is usually R110, but with this special, you get two for that price. Can I hear all you penny saving divas say CHA-CHING Winning!
Essence XXXL Lip Gloss
Secondly was this Essence XXXL Lip Gloss in 18 – Sparkling Papaya, a Peachy shade. Now Essence is truly one of my most favourite brands and when I have a bit of extra cash on me I always go over to their stand and see what I can spoil myself with at a really good price. Now I am not a fan of gloss most of the time but I really have been looking for a nice Peachy spring colour and I am really impressed with this one. It is quite pigmented as you can see in the swatch and has little flecks of glitter (who doesn’t love to shine!). For R30, this is definitely worth a try. I also have enjoyed using it on top of my MAC Myth lipstick.
Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick
Lastly was a very exciting surprise from my mom. A lady at her office sells Avon makeup products and is an Avon Representative. She came home with these two cute little lipsticks for R5 (YES FIVE RAND!). I just love this concept of carrying a small lippy in my handbag for a quick slick of colour. Also, how awesome is it that you can test out a few colours and then choose to buy the full one once you know the colour you like. They remind me of little Barbie Lipsticks – cuuuute! I got Red (Name has rubbed off a bit), but it is similar to MAC’s Russian Red and Avon Country Rose Lipstick, which is a deep fuchsia colour with flecks of silver in it. I was truly impressed with how pigmented and long lasting these little beauties are. These Avon Lipsticks are a definite must!
Until next time ladies keep saving and if any of you find any good bargains please comment below and I will be sure to check them out!
