I recently tried out Avon's new range of Ultra Glazewear Absolute Lip glosses in the Soft Peach colour and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy wearing it.

First off I would like to mention that I have never been too keen on lip glosses, I find they usually have a tacky/sticky feel, are poorly pigmented, and last all of 5 minutes on my lips, so I was not expecting miracles with this one.

I love that Avon has gone with a clear container, this makes life so much easier when narrowing down your favourite colours to test. The wand applicator is soft on the lips, easy to manoeuvre and brings out a fair amount of product. It has a pleasant subtle vanilla-ish scent reminding me more of a lip balm.

Right off the bat I adore the colour, soft nude colours are my game and this is no exception. It is neither too pink nor too orange and hands down is one of the most natural looking colours I have ever come across in a lip gloss. With regards to the pigment, I have to give credit where credit is due, it must be exceptionally hard to create a highly pigmented lip gloss and maintain the shine, especially in the lighter colour spectrum and Avon have definitely managed to create one of the most pigmented ones I have come across in this price range. I still feel that I achieve a better pigmented colour look with my lipsticks and stains, hence have taken to wearing this gloss over a couple of my favourite lip stains and have been pairing it with the Avon Ultra Colour Absolute Lipstick in Natural Flush. When paired with either, it shows off the most amazing colour with just the right amount of shine, and when worn on its own, manages to make your lips look naturally flawless.

The staying power is definitely in the upper end of the margin and a round of applause should be given for natural feel on my lips, I usually end up rubbing my lips together in irritation over the stickiness of most and I didn't do that with this one. For ladies with boyfriends who wont go near them when the gloss is applied this is a real winner, I didn't get the usual moan and groan associated with the transfer of a tacky/glue like substance.

I am thrilled with the conditioning ingredients and SPF15 included within the gloss, you are basically getting all the advantages of a lip balm and gloss rolled into one nifty product.

Overall I would definitely recommend the product, especially if you are looking for a gloss that is both high quality and reasonable in price.

Top Tips for Longer Lasting Gloss
1- Ex-foliate First
Smooth lips look best! Use a wash cloth, a soft facial cleansing brush or a gentle ex-foliating facial scrub. At night, apply a moisturising lip treatment before going to bed.

2- Line Before You Shine
To minimize bleeding, line lips with a soft lip pencil in a natural shade that matches your lips. Outline your mouth just inside your natural lip line, then fill in your lips with the same colour.

3- Ace It With a Base
After lining and filling in, top your lips with a wax-based lip balm or an anti-feathering lip base to seal the lip liner and creates a base for the gloss to adhere to. Use a lip brush for best results.

4- Gloss and Go
Start applying lip gloss in the middle of your mouth and blend the lip gloss outward, stopping just short of the edge to prevent bleeding. You can use the wand for convenience, but you’ll get best results when you a apply lip colour with a lip brush.
