Avon Ultra Colour Lip Crayons in Carefree Coral,Sweetly Pink and Showstopper Pink.
HotI received three of these pretty crayons in three different shades: Carefree Coral, Sweetly Pink and Showstopper Pink. I have been using Avon since I was 14 and it was my first little bit of cosmetics that I purchased. I remember being so excited about it when my gran would send me Avon parcels from overseas, containing all kinds of pretty, girly things. So I was very interested to see if Avon still measure up to what I remembered it to be. What I think about the crayons: The Positives: The actual colours are really stunning. They are full of life and really can give your make-up a huge boost. The Carefree Coral is more on the orange side and will work nicely on a tanned skin for summer. Showstopper Pink is great for a night out on the town when you want your lips to really pop, and Sweetly Pink works great for any occasion : I’ve worn it everywhere from varsity, to a dinner date, to a party. The texture of it is nice and soft and it is easily applied. The staying power is also really great and the colour stays on the lips for a good couple of hours. The Negatives: For me, it is too creamy. It goes on way too thick for my liking. And since it is so thick it is also un-even upon application. I thought that it being a Lip Crayon I could just put it on and go, but had to adjust it with my lip brush so it didn’t look so thick. Also I really didn’t like the sparkles. When I used a make-up remover to take off the first crayon so I could put on another one, I ended up with a face full of sparkles. The Bottom Line: For its price (just over R100 if I remember correctly) the Lip Crayons are very good and do their job. It is a great rival for Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and I’d say give it a try. I doubt I would purchase more of these as I prefer more matte lip crayons. I wasn’t disappointed in what Avon had to offer, but it just wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.
