AVON Pure Orchid lipstick

I have used quite a few Avon lipsticks , so I for sure do know that these are really one of the most affordable brand of lipsticks, not only that but the quality is amazing...

They do not leave my lips feeling chapped.

I absolutely love this colour and i think will look good on any person with a pinkish skin undertone.

Avon recently launched the Ultra Colour Absolute Lipstick collection for perfect moisture and trendy pigments for the upcoming season.

I have tried and tested the Pure Orchid Ultra Colour Absolute based on three criteria: Colour, Durability and Moisture.

In terms of colour, it is Purple – Red Berry Shade. When applying, the lipstick glides on smoothly, with a strong colour pigment, true to the shade of the lipstick tube. Perfect for medium coverage!

In terms of durability, due to the finish, my lips lasted a few hours. Wear time can decrease when eating or drinking but product quality is long lasting.

In terms of moisture, I like the way the product feels on my lips, it goes on smoothly and feels moisturising.

Overall: I am very impressed by this new range from Avon. The product delivers to:
- True colour
- Moisturising qualities
- Long lasting durability
- SPF 15 Sunscreen
- Non-bleeding

So when I took this one out of the packet, I was a little wary, as the name pure orchid said to me pink, and pink doesn't look all that good on me, when I broke the classy black wrapper and opened it though I was pleasantly surprised!
When looking at it through the plastic pink lid it seemed really pink, however after removing the lid, one is treated to stunning colour that has hidden depths! There is a plum undertone to this lipstick that really gives it depth and body!
But that's not the end!!!
This lipstick by Avon also moisturized my lips, and seemed to plump them up by filling in the dry cracked areas! I left this review to do until the last day because I wanted to see if the moisturizing effects were temporary or would they last, and last they did, the sun protection factor is a must for me, because of the accutane.
I used the lipstick with and without Lipliner and happy to report that in either case there was no bleeding. With a nice Matt effect, I tried it with the lipgloss that was a neutral shade so it did not effect the colour, and found that for evenings I prefer to use both the lipstick and the gloss together, however, during the day I liked that my lips were Matt!
I found the colour lasted longer than other brand I used, but does need touching up after eating or drinking,
A little something unconventional, one of the days I was in rush and couldn't find my blusher so I used this particular shade as a bit of a blush applied with my finger tips and it gave me such a lovely rosy glow!

To end off my review, I did an ombré lip last night using the pure orchid and an orange,
WOW!!!!!

To all ladies reading this who think pink is not their colour, this is not your typical pink lipstick, it has body and depth to the colour that will leave you using a cotton bud to remove the last of this stunning colour out of the tube!!!

Okay so I had a bit of fun with this lipstick over the past weekend. I love the texture and how velvety it goes on, huge bonus as this also moisturized the lips. This color is stunning - In between a pink & purple. This lipstick has a little shine to it, perfect for a day look, to transform it to a night look, paired with a smokey eye, I applied the lipstick - dabbed a little concealer then followed with a compact powder, on to the lips. This technique gave my lips a matte finish and the lipstick lasted a little longer. Only downfall with this lipstick is that it doesn't last to long. It's a good buy though and suits all complexions :)

I was very excited when I was selected to be part of the Avon Review club as this was my 1st Beauty Bulletin review. I received one lipstick (Pure Orchid) and one lip gloss (Soft Peach) to review. Please find below my lipstick review.

Avon Ultra Colour Absolute Lipstick – Pure Orchid

When I received the Pure Orchid lipstick , it was wrapped in classy black plastic wrap with the text in white. I was very happy about this as this assured me that the product had not been opened. I really do not like purchasing makeup products that have no protective seal. The lipstick tube is a cute plastic case with a translucent pink cap which closes perfectly resulting in minimised accidental spillages in purses and handbags. The Pure Orchid lipstick contains not only vitamins E & C but collagen & phytols. The collagen makes the lips appear fuller and plumper whilst the phytols condition and hydrate the lips. The sunscreen is a major plus and we all know the importance of vitamins C & E?.

Pure Orchid lipstick is a blue-based bright fuchsia pink shade with purplish tone to it. The lipstick applies on the lips very smoothly, without patches. It really glides on without becoming a messy layer on the lips. Its texture is light, creamy & soft. It has a very moisturising effect and super comfortable on the lips leaving them with a soft shine. It is pigmented yet not heavy on the lips and really brings the focus to the lips. It has a rich colour pay off because of the true colour technology - the colour you see is the colour you get. When I wore it, it offered medium coverage but it is buildable. It is non-bleeding, non-feathering and non-drying. It left my lips feeling silky. The hydrating or moisturising factor of this lipstick is the focal point. It really feels like a lipstick & hydrating balm all-in-one. The staying power is superb but like all lip products, eating and drinking reduces this staying power. It is super moisturising and it continues to work even after you have taken it off – Isn’t that something!? ?? I am definitely going to try more shades I this range. However, if you are in love with matte lipsticks, you may not enjoy this lipstick but I encourage you to give it a try and judge for yourself. Also remember that you can play around with lip liners and lip glosses to bring this lipstick to a tone you think is most flattering to your skin tone.

I love this product and i have been getting a lot of compliments in the office about my lips,this lipstick has landed in my "must have" list of products.
