Vitamin C skin Serum
Something's got to be said about a product if a client of a TOP brand (that rhymes with alroy shane) decides to switch sides. My aunt (62 years old and looking super hot) has done just that. Because my uncle is heading towards retirement at the end of the year she decided she would get herself into the habit of using a cheaper product that would help with the fine lines under and around her eyes (lucky that they're only fine lines at her age). She decided to try the Vitamin C serum from Hey Gorgeous. Not only did it help with the fine lines but it also helped with her skin tone. She had tiny (ok they weren't really dark... but rather noticable) marks on her skin. They are so much lighter now and she looks fantastic. Here's the wise of it: Vitamin C is a powerful nutrient to repair aging, stimulate collagen production, heal acne scars, and brighten the skin. The serum contains 20% L-Ascorbic Vitamin C which produces excellent results. My aunt is the reason I got hooked on Hey Gorgeous in the first place. Hey Gorgeous Rose Petal Bath Milk
This is by far the Hey Gorgeous product that goes down extremely well with all the ladies I talk to. It is 200 grams of pure bliss the the form of Bicarb of soda, epsom salts and essential oils. When I show prospective buyers the sample packet they FLIP OUT!! The instructions specifically says: Pour a generous amount into your bath water, grab a glass of your favorite something, tell the kids to go play and..... RELAX. I decided to give it a try (Duh, who wouldn't? I'm so lucky I have all these samples). Since I don't have kids, I told my boyfriend to go and play. (lol) A friend of mine coined the phrase "It's like Med-lemon for your soul", well I'm stealing it now because there is no better way to describe it. I happened to have had a really bad day but after my luxury bath, I felt so much better. If you try only one thing in the Hey Gorgeous range, let it be the absolutely fantasticly Gorgeous Rose petal Bath Milk. Cleopatra has nothing on this! All the Hey Gorgeous products are completely vegan and organic.
Choc mint Whipped body mousse
I love body butters as much as the next hydration freak but I recently learned that I might not need as much moisturising as I initially thought. I got introduced to HEY GORGEOUS' WHIPPED BODY MOUSSE a short while ago and everybody that I show it to go bananas over it. What I love about the Choc mint one especially is the fact that it is just enough for my skin. I don't end up slipping everywhere after I've used it. It absorbes easily and it has a little bit of a shimmer in it. Another bonus especially with winter here - it gives your skin a slight tint so that it looks like you've spent some time in the sun. And the smell of it is so lovely you'll have to stop yourself from digging in with a spoon. Disclaimer - I actually tasted it and I could taste the mint :) Hey Gorgeous is 100% organic and vegan and not tested on animals and freshly made when you order it.
Honey & Oatmeal Facial Scrub
I have here before me, an entire basket full of Hey gorgeous samples because I have decided to become a Gorgeous sales lady. The perks of being a sales lady - the samples. Even though I'm hot wired to plug a product where I can, my integrity comes first. I wouldn't have decided to sell these products if I didn't think they could hold a candle to the top, better known brands out there. Let me tell you this... it far exceeds my previous expectations. Besides the .... gorgeous... packaging, the customer service and personal attention that is given to you by Phoebe and the gang is just incredible. They customise the product to your specifications. They insist on giving you the best value for your money and if you're not happy (which I heard has never happened) they will refund you or they will try to modify it to suit you better. I opened all the little jars and smelled them all and when I stopped at the Honey and Oatmeal facial scrub I wanted to get a spoon and start eating. I tried a little (for research purposes of course) and my skin feels so amazing. Initially I thought it was a little more abbrasive than I would like, but I adjusted my pressure to where it was comfortable. I even left it on my face for a while so that the oils and goodness could soak into my skin. If you don't mind the sticky stuff on your face, keep it on for 5 minutes. Over all I have to say it was one of the best facial scrubs I've used. Definately in my top 5 and it is really affordable. The bonus is that it is completely VEGAN and ORGANIC!!! And not tested on animals
Almond Shower Gel
I am very happy that The Body shop has a loyalty program, because I am such an addict that come pay back time, I can litterally buy my entire month's body shop supplies with my vouchers. Almond is one of my favorite smells and the beautifying properties of almond in nature is just to die for. The Body shop does an amazing job at bringing us the different flavours Mother Earth has to offer in a lovely container. Yes, these products are more expensive, but they are amazing and The Bod shop always has specials like a buy 2 get 1 free type of deal. Or apply for your loyalty card. Doesn't cost a cent and you get back. Also feel good in knowing that you're supporting a brand that doesn't test on animals and devotes itself to a greener tomorrow.
Body Shop Almond Body Butter
I'm a simple girl - there are very few beauty products that I refuse to live without. Not taking the bare essentials into consideration of course, those few things (in no particular order) are: - my eyeliner - my body shop body scrub of the month - my body shop body butter of the month - my cellulite creams (even if it is just for the placebo effect) - perfume... ah hem... sorry... good perfume The Almond Body Butter variant took my breath away. It smells so nice without even trying. It absorbes so easily and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. I normally cover myself from head to toe with the body butter and in winter I slather it onto my feet and put on a pair of thick socks and the next morning my feet are silky smooth. I highly advise every girl to get herself a body shop body butter. Yes, they are on the pricy side but they are so worth it.
Seaverah – cellulite and stretchmark serum
I've been struggling with cellulite for years (since high school) but lately it has become a bigger problem for me (probably because I'm getting older and I have yet to walk on the beach in my bikini). I've tried everything - cupping, creams and pills promising better, healthier looking skin, but nothing has really worked. I'm sorry ladies (because I'm detecting a glimmer of hope there), I'm afraid this is not your miracle cream answer to your cellulite prayers. But there might be hope yet - I have felt a difference in my skin elasticity as well as some cm loss after using Seaverah (first 2 bottles). And some of the cellulite has gone away but I won't advise you to pay R500 per bottle. Rather look out for the specials on Groupon and (just a tip) follow up on delivery because I had a slight issue in that regard. Here's what I'm doing: 1. Exercise (at least 4 times a week and I take a 3k jog on a Sunday morning - nothing hectic) 2. Try to avoid alcohol (I mean, if you're drinking every night you have a problem) Try to cut down a bit 3. Take "Women" vitamins by Vital or/and Omega 3 suppliments (very good for your skin) 4. use some sort of cellulite cream every morning and at night after a bath or shower 5. use Bellabaci cups in the shower or bath (The heat helps a bit) 6. use a derma roller when using cellulite cream As you can see it's not an easy task but you can keep the cellulite to a minimum and Seaverah may help you to shed a little, but don't expect too much.
