We all hear how important it is to remove all make-up properly before bed, and to look after our skin. Personally, I feel that an eye make-up remover is one of the most important steps in any skin-care routine, as it can cause eye infections, styes, breakouts and even fine lines and wrinkles if not removed properly (and removing it "properly" means more than using just a cleanser or a harsh toner on the eye area). Eye makeup must be removed right down to the base of the eyelashes, as this is where eyeliner and mascara is applied, but also where eyelash follicles can become plugged with makeup and cause problems.
I was hesitant to use a different eye make-up remover to the one that I usually use (an Avon product that I swear by). However, I tried it and was quite impressed. It comes in liquid form (the one I usually use is a cream), and leaves no residue at all. This is very helpful for teenage skin especially, as whiteheads etc can be caused from oily residue remaining around the eye and cheek bone area. I found that this Amie eye make-up remover smells very light and fresh, and left my skin feeling quite refreshed and clean (like everything was removed 100% properly).
This product is quite a reasonable price at R69,99, and is long-lasting as you don't need too much of it at a time to take off your makeup (and I use quite a bit of eyeliner and mascara, so have tested it fully!) It removed all my eye makeup properly, so no risk of getting eye infections or styes from makeup clogging up pores.
I did, however, find that my eyes felt a tiny bit sticky, and a bit too dry for my liking. I would recommend it for younger skin for sure. It is very important to use an eye cream if you are a bit older, so as not to dry out the eye area too much and cause wrinkles or fine lines due to a lack of moisture (if used regularly). The scent is also light and not over-powering, and it is not too strong or chemical-scented. Due to the cucumber extracts, the eyes are left feeling clean, cool and fresh.
All in all, a good product at a reasonable price. It does it's job well, and I would recommend it.
