I bought the Bronze It lotion in Medium after reading a few really good reviews on it. I'm always nervous of self tanners as I'm terrified of looking like a walking carrot!



The pump-action is perfect as it gives you just the right amount of product without waste, and the caring formula is enriched with milk extracts to prevent streaking. You can see results in 4-6 hours (and this is true, as I definitely saw a difference), and you can apply more daily until you reach the required deepness of tan. After that you just apply every few days to maintain it. It is definitely a natural looking tan, not orange at all, and the formula smells like coconut oil, rather than that terrible self tan smell. It starts as a gentle golden glow and you can build it up to a darker shade.

This is going to be a permanent purchase for me now and I really would like to get the Deep shade to try as well, for when summer really hits!

I have quite fair, freckled skin... So spending hours in the sun with my sensitive skin is not recommended..
There is a history of skin cancer among the ladies in my family, so I either lather myself in SPF 50 or avoid the sun and hide in the shade..And when I do "tan" I either stay red for a week and go back to fair me, or 1000 new freckles appear. So for me, The Tropitone Sunless Bronze Self Tan Lotion is an absolute must have...

Best of all, I don't have to sit in the sun for hours to get that perfect summer glow...

This product is so simple to use, Its affordable, Doesn't have that awful self tan smell and best of all looks completely natural...Just the other day my boyfriend commented on "my tan".. Little did he know... :)

I have tried MANY self tans, bronzers, spray tans, you name it..And for me, this is the WINNER... Hands Down...

This is by far the best self tan cream that I have come across, and I have tried many! I find a lot of self tan creams (like the Dove Summer Glow, and has an awful smell) leave a sticky touch to your skin after applying it (even after a few hours have gone by) but not this one. Not only is it silky to the touch, it doesn't have that revolting smell to it that many have. Washing your hands after applying also easily removes any evidence from the use of self tan cream. It is also very easy to apply, and I have seldom found any streaks. I'm not brave enough to apply it to my whole body, but I haven't had any problems when applying to my legs. The pump nozzle also allows for easy application. Definitely my go-to self tan cream from now on!

I am very pale and every once in a while, especially in the summer, I would like to be just a few shades darker. I have tried many tanning products and this one is definitely one of my favourites. I prefer the cream based self-tanners as I feel more in control of where the product goes. This product does not smell as offensive as other self-tanner products and can easily be tolerated. After giving it time to be absorbed ( just a few minutes), it does not rub off on clothing.

I have found that, without the products used to extend your tan, it lasts for quite a while, approximately a week. It is important to remember to never apply self tanning lotion right after you have shaved, the colour darkens in the pores. Always remember that certain areas, like the feet, knees and elbows tend to be darker and therefore require less lotion.

I always have a bottle available in my bathroom and would recommend this to everyone looking for a natural tan without the harmful effects of the sun.

I was recommended by my friend to try this self tanner because she said it worked so well. I have never tried self-tanners before this, so I was a bit cautious and hesitant, because I didn't want to look like an Asian version of Jersey Shore ;).

What I love most about this product is that it comes in different shades - light, medium and dark - so you can decide how tanned you want to look by your current skin tone. I picked the medium tan one. I also picked the pump-action bottle because I wanted to use a cream product, rather than a spray.

Many self tanners require you to exfoliate before using it, but I found this product to work well, even though I didn't exfoliate. What was surprising was that the cream that came out of the bottle was white. I was expecting it to be bronze or brown. It applied evenly and blended easily just like normal body cream would. It did have a different smell though, the smell isn't pleasant but its not offensive either.

This product did not streak at all. What I did was I started applying this product from my leg upwards after I showered and dried myself really well. I applied on my shins and thighs first and only used what remained on my hands on top of my feet, ankles and knee area. I did this to prevent applying too much product on these areas, where you are prone to look darker easier. Then I applied on the middle section of my body and my arms. With my arms I applied the same principle. Starting on my forearm first, then my upper arm area and applying what remained on my hands and elbows. Wash hands immediately (especially between the fingers where your "webs" are). I then use a towel that I don't mind staining, and gentle rub the ankle and elbow area to remove any excess product.

I try to stay in a towel for at least 20 minutes before I put my clothes on. I usually do this an hour and a half before bed. The product doesn't get on your clothes or your bedding, which is great. And the next morning I wake up noticeably 3-4 shades darker.

If that isn't dark enough for you, apply it again the next day. For my face, I mix a bit of my moisturizer with a bit of the self tanner and apply this on the face. The skin on your face is thinner, so I don't recommend applying it on its own.

I love this product! It works well, doesn't streak, gives you that tanned look without looking orange, is semi-permanent so it should last for 2 weeks before you have to reapply. It is easy to maintain, just apply this once a week and you should be tanned throughout the season.

This product retails for R82.90 which isn't too bad if you compare it to other self-tanners that are pricey and DON'T give you the result you want. I would definitely repurchase this product again and recommend it to anyone who wants to look more tan.
