What is rubybox?
Based on a hugely successful international model rubybox, South Africa’s first beauty box, cuts through the clutter to send members only what works and what’s worth the splurge. Every month, rubybox members will receive a gorgeous box containing luxury, trial-size beauty samples delivered straight to their door, allowing them to discover which products they love in their own time, in the comfort of their own home. Each box comes with four or five premium trial-size samples of the very best hair, makeup, skincare and fragrances the beauty world has on offer. When members sign up for the R100 monthly subscription service (with no lock-in), they fill out a beauty profile which ensures they receive products relevant to their needs.

What’s in rubybox?
Each month members can look forward to trying a selection of four to five new and best-selling luxury beauty products that we ourselves have tried and loved. Look forward to receiving makeup from black│Up and Smashbox, fragrances from Bvlgari, skincare from Decléor, Elizabeth Arden, Lancôme and Perricone MD, body care from Crabtree & Evelyn and hair care from Philip Kingsley and L’Oréal Professionnel. These brands and their products are all suited to the member’s beauty needs or concerns, plus we’re signing up more brands every month. (The minimum value of the box is R300).

We’ll provide members with tricks on how to achieve the latest trends, in-depth product information as well as expert interviews and videos through our beauty insider ezine. Plus, once they’re certain they’ve found a product they love, they can purchase the full-size version in our online shop (coming soon). Every purchase earns ruby points which can be redeemed against another

subscription or more great products. Referring friends and filling out a quick feedback survey earns ruby points too!

Who is rubybox?
The team consists of Austrian-born Sylvia Gruber, CEO who before moving to South Africa to start up Africhic.com – an online fashion retailer that promotes African designers – worked in brand management at beauty giants like P&G in Frankfurt, Germany and L’Oréal Paris in Paris, France.

Margaux Knuppe, current beauty editor of GLAMOUR and ex beauty assistant of FairLady joins the team as Content and Communications Director.
