Just adding a little height to the top of your hairstyle can make a world of difference to your hairstyle.Recently, Scarlett Johansson appeared at the 64th Annual Tony Awards where she looked beautiful as always. Here is how you could have that same hair style in minutes!

Firstly, make sure your hair has been washed as least one day before or the night before styling your hair. This helps to keep the style in place without using too much product and makes it easier to manage. Otherwise the hair can be too soft and clean to work with.

You will need: hair spray, a teasing comp, 1 or 2 grips and an elastic band.

To achieve a subtle but higher than usual do, just style your hair as normal ( blowdry) and then comb the front section of your hair forward and either tie it up or clip it together, so that’s it’s separated from the rest of your hair. You should now have 2 separate sections, your crown area and your hair below your crown area.

Working on your crown area, take small sections starting from the back and give it a quick spray.

Then take your teasing comb and tease or back comb your section in a downward movement so you are creating height by the root area.

Many women make the mistake of backcombing the entire front section and then lightly brushing it to neaten it up. What you are doing then is untangling the knots you had created by backcombing, defeating the purpose. Your hair then falls flat much faster.

Continue doing this to all the sections until the whole crown area is teased and has a lot of height.

Gently tease the hair left on top of your crown with a small brush or comb. Teasing hair gives you instant volume. After you’ve brushed it in the wrong direction, it should look like a little ball of hair is sitting on top of your head.

Spray a bit of hair spray before backcombing so it stays put.

Now take the front section of hair (which you initially separated) and smooth it over the top of your head to cover the back combed section. Grip it with 1 ot 2 grips and put the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Voila! Perfect height on the crown area achieved in minutes . Best Wishes and hope this helped your hairstyle!
