A makeup look I’ve been applying quite a bit these days and also picked it up at this year’s Emmy Awards was the black liquid line with a nude or no shadow, with the eye lined with white pencil at the bottom. This is a very striking and glamorous look and not difficult after a view practice sessions. The white on the inside of the bottom lid adds that extra sparkle to your evening eye!

A lovely liner to use is MAC Superslick in Marked for Glamour and one of my favourites, Denim gel liner from Bobbi Brown.

This is a extremely flattering look for almost any eye shape and elongates the eye to give it a wide innocent look. If you are nervous of using liquid liners but like the effect, try it with a sharp soft eye pencil and follow as close to your lashes from the inside corner of your eye to the outside.

I like making the line at the outside corner thicker than on the inside which again adds to the ‘false eyelash effect’. Using false eyelashes with liquid lines in the evening is absolutely stunning, as seen on the runways at Dior.

To get those sexy Bridit Bardot-ish eyes it is not always neccessary to use black as your liquid line colour. I love using a dark blue denim colour, dark aubergine purple and a glimmery gunmetal grey as alternatives. And really, the tick on the outside corner at the end of your liquid line just proves there is a inner catwoman in all of us….RRRrrrrrr……
