The Defined Cheeks makeup trend has made its comeback this season! The latest runways have models sporting their knife sharp cheekbones. Follow our tips below to find out how to get that perfect contoured cheek.
How to Apply Blush:
As we all have different shaped faces it is always a good idea to determine ones face shape before applying your Blush. Take these tips below which work well the following face shapes.
Round face:
In order to give an illusion of slenderness, apply blush in a sideways V on the cheekbones. Blend it well and add a few very light strokes to the chin.
Square face:
Square faces often need softening. To soften the square angles of the face, dab blush on the forehead and chin. Apply blush from the center of the eyes towards the cheekbones and blend. Another option is to apply blush to the apple of the cheek.
Rectangular face:
Apply blush below the outer corners of the eyes, this will then help to reduce the elongated square shape.
Oval face:
Apply blush to the prominent part of the cheekbone and blend towards the temples of your face.
Blush Colour:
It is always a good idea to choose a blush colour to suit the occasion and the time of the day. What goes well for a dramatic evening look can be over the top for office wear. For the day , choose a lighter colour than you would at night. Opt for pink shades in winter while in summer opt for peachy, warm hues. Soft natural pinks, beige and peach are ideal for a bright day. Pinch your cheeks for a second or two, this will help you determine what colour your blush should be.
Choosing a blush shade that mimics your natural colouring will avoid an artificial look. Always remember to keep your blush colour the same shade as your lipstick shade you are wearing. You don’t want to start looking like a clown. Check out shades of blush in natural lighting before making a choice.
Blushers are available in powder, cream or a liquid form and in a wide variety of tones.
LIQUID AND CREAM BLUSH
