L’oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour Compact
HotL’Oreal’s Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour Compact was created with a new breakthrough formula and a revolutionary 3-in-1 packaging. By 3-in-1, it means that there is a vibrant lip colour, moisturizing balm, and built-in mirror in one package. This product promises 16 hours of gorgeous colour that won’t dry out. It also promises to seal in colour even after eating and drinking and that there is no transfer or feathering (not sure what that means). The moisturising lip balm included in the 3-in-1 package contains Vitamin E and Marine Collagen that makes sure that your lips are nourished. The product comes with a patented precision applicator and the reflective surface on the packaging is also a stylish mirror. The shade that I have is 100 Azalea

Product Recommendation
And mirror on one! Two of my favourite colours are mahogany and French roast both of which look great on brown skin! This lipstick does have the propensity to make lips feel dry and therefore u would carry it around with you for the purpose of the balm! The colour is applied with a kind of lip gloss applicator and really does not need reapplication till u want to! It's more pricey than other ranges but in terms of colour and longwear its unbeatable
The colour is rich, vibrant and is really long lasting. i have the colour French Roast, which is like a brown-red-wine shade. intsant winner for winter.
it also does this magic thing to my complexion..which i adore. the colour is way to bold to wear during the day..although i must admit, i like the 'gothic' look it gives.
perfect for nights out in a club.
The application is very smooth and it has slight moisturisation but once it dries its extremely sticky on the lips. I suppose this is the long lasting bit but I really don't like how it feels at all. As for lasting 10 hours, it didn't last that well. There was slight colour on my lips but it looked dry and cracked. Naturally if you're eating and drinking throughout the day its not going to last.
The packaging is half bad, the bullet shape looks sleek and sophisticated and its got Loreal stamped into the lipstick.
This retails for under R150 at Clicks or Dischem. I can't remember the exact price I paid.
Product Recommendation
Out of the other long lasting lipsticks/lipgloss that I've tried I like this one the most. It's compact and the reflective material is a great mirror to have around, even when applying other lipsticks.
You need to apply it rather quickly because any mistakes after are difficult to remove or repair. Before applying the lipbalm that supposedly sets in the lipstick, you should wait about 2 min as this helps the lipstick last longer.
You may need to apply the lipbalm regularly because the lipstick does dry out your lips to some point.
As for long lasting, it does work well but I haven't found it to work for 16 hours. Maybe that will only work if you don't eat or drink or even touch your lips for that amount of time. It does tend to flake after 3 or so hours and because you can't just wipe it off and re-apply you will need to add more over what you already have on.
Removing the product is difficult if you don't have the correct make-up remover. I think I may have found a trick, which I will post in comments that easily and cheaply removes the lipstick in seconds without having to scrub. I found it out by accident and works for me.
I have the Ginger colour.
The packaging is quite cute and original. There are two sides to the product, the lipcolour and the lipbalm and you push it from the bottom in order to pull out the wand or the lip balm. The outside surface of the product is reflective, so it doubles up as a mirror. The mirror is only usable from close; you definitely can’t use it to apply makeup to your face as it tends to get blurry.
What I don’t like about the product is that sometimes it can be very drying on my lips (which are already prone to being dry). If you don’t wait for the product to dry (usually 1 min) and you put your lips together, it tends to get flakey and blotches on the lips. I’m not sure if this is just because it’s on my lips, but this is my personal experience with the product. You also can’t reapply the lipcolour later during the day without ruining it, so you have to make sure to apply enough and properly the first time. It also takes longer than usual to apply lipcolour because you must wait for the colour to dry for 1 minute before applying the lip balm. Another disadvantage is that you will most probably need a makeup remover to remove the product (it is long lasting afterall). It’s also quite expensive at R155.95 at Clicks! I can buy a MAC lipstick or lipgloss with that!
