P&G Prestige
SA’s beauty industry insiders headed to Pigalle in the City of Gold for a sneak peak at some big name new fragrances scheduled to hit local shelves soon. Dolce & Gabbana, Escada and Gucci were some of the sought-after scents we were introduced to over the course of the two-day event, but it was Gucci’s latest offering – Gucci Bamboo (from R835 for 30ml, Edgars) – that stole my heart with its unique combination of soft and intense notes which create a strong yet graceful scent, and distinctive Bamboo bottle design.
Vichy
Back in the Mother City, Cape Town’s beauty brigade spent a cosy morning munching on delectable blueberry waffles Orphanage Cocktail Emporium, while Vichy gave us the lowdown on their latest hair care innovation: Vichy Dercos is all about rejuvenating healthy hair from the scalp all the way to the shaft.
The atmosphere turned fiercely competitive when it was announced that the beauty editor to Tweet the most Vichy facts would take home a state of the art ghd hair dryer…
Black Pearl
I spent an afternoon at bustling Potluck Club bring introduced to luxe beauty brand, Black Pearl. I got to sample a decadent Black Pearl 24k Gold Cleopatra Mask which is infused with mud from the Dead Sea and 24k Gold which energizes the skin reduces the appearance of rosacea, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, blemishes and also rebuilds collagen and, in true Potluck Club fashion, some of the most delectable dishes were served – from exotic ‘tangerine duck shavings’ to a comforting apple pie, my palette relished every unique flavour.
Estee Lauder
A whirlwind week of fascinating skincare innovations couldn’t come to an end without a visit from the Estèe Lauder team at the Daylight Studio in Bree Street, Capetown. We were introduced to the brand’s cutting-edge ‘New Dimension’ collection, scheduled to launch in SA in mid-September. Think ‘liquid tape’ and a super serum to plump and add structure to your face.
