(Olive Oil & Buchu Leaves)

Funny enough, in the past, I have found the most beneficial home-made exfoliator, included olive oil and have always used it as my go-to recipe. So when I saw that it was one of the main ingredients, I was eager to make use of the product. I always find that exfoliators are either too rough or too gentle, on your skin, and was more than ecstatic when I felt the texture of this exfoliator. It isn't sand-paper but it isn't angel's kisses, instead it provides a good balance and removes the dead skin cells effectively, without leaving you looking red and blotchy! Olive oil is great in restoring moisture, which is a point often neglected, in exfoliators, as companies believe you will just be making use of a moisturizer after use. However, the added benefit is that the moisture provided by the olive oil will penetrate better, while the micro-beads are scrubbing away the dead skin cells. The result is younger looking, renewed skin! Now, you are probably stressed that the olive oil would cause excessive oiliness, but that is where the Buchu leaves come to play as they remove the oiliness and it evens-out your skin tone.

(with Baobab & Rosehip)
& (with Honeybush and Shea Butter)

As you may know, from my previous skincare reviews, I have a problem trying to include skincare as part of an everyday routine. With these products, though, I look forward to the daily treat and absolutely love the little me-time I get from it. I have to confess that these moisturizers have become a guilty-pleasure as I am just so gaga about the scent, consistency and they boast amazing healing properties. The day cream has a strong rose scent to it, one which I am not usually a fan of, but somehow - with the combination of several other natural ingredients - I find that, it is not as overwhelming but rather refreshing. I am quite aware of the scars and blemishes that I have on my face, some are from my teen years and other, deeper scars are from the chickenpox, that I had when I was 14 years old. I am first to try cover up with foundation but since making use of these products, regularly, I am more confident and have even braved going out, without foundation. I find that my skin has a natural shine, has become more supple and I may be imagining things - but I find less blemishes and the ones that I do have, are healing a lot quicker! The night cream is a lot thicker than the day cream and you make use of such a small quantity to spread right across your face. I can't identify the scent, but it is a very gentle and comforting one. Just like the rest of our body, our skin is hard at work while we sleep. This means that by making use of the correct night creams, we can effectively restore our skin to its natural state. The shea-butter is great at restoring moisture to damaged or dried out skin, you can feel that with its thickness it penetrates like no other night cream. I find that with both creams, they don't leave that overly dewy or sticky feeling, that I get from other creams and often I find that I sweat more or feel like I have blocked pores, after applying moisturizer. But with both these creams, they allow my skin to breathe and adds a great natural and healthy hue to my skin.

(with Aloe Vera & Lime)

Again, I have to compliment the convenience of the pump bottle, I wish more companies would make use of it! The scent of this product is a little stronger than the rest. I am not sure if everyone would like it, as the lime can be a little pungent. I have to admit, that I am still in-love with it and look forward to washing my face twice a day, every day. The cleanser creates a light soapy mixture when rubbed all around your face and does an effective job of leaving you, feeling energized and fresh- I believe this is thanks to the Lime. I was surprised to read that it also helps in smoothing out your skins appearance. Aloe Vera is a product that South Africans tend to praise, so I was happy when I saw that this cleanser included it. The benefits are easily absorbed and you can feel the cleanliness of the anti-bacterial properties that come from the Aloe. My biggest worry about testing new skincare products is that I usually have a break-out, after my first use. I am happy to report that it was not the case at all! I believe that this is suited for all skin types both young and old, and if you do have sensitive skin - to seriously consider making a purchase!

(with Kigelia & Coconut)

Let me begin with, "FINALLY!" Yes, finally, someone has thought of putting body cream in a pump bottle. There are so few companies that think to make use of this simple, yet effective mechanism! I love the convenience of being able to pump the cream out, without getting it everywhere else, but my body. This cream has one of the most intoxicating smells that I have ever come across. It is like rubbing a mojito all over your body, with its strong tones of lemon balm and orange citrus. I am a sucker for all scents that are natural and fresh, and this product takes the prize for packing all that and more, in a small and convenient bottle. The scent alone, was enough for me and I was ready to roll my body in every last drop but then I read a little more about the ingredients. Although, I cannot identify the coconut scent, I am well aware of the benefits of coconut oil. It is known for its nourishing and gentle care while protecting your skin with its anti-oxidant levels, it holds many healing qualities and is a staple part of my body's daily care. Kigelia, is something I had never heard of and decided that I would read a little more about - I was impressed to find that it held anti-inflammatory and firming properties. I had only read this after fully trying the product and thinking back, it makes sense as to why the little bites that were all over my body, have healed so nicely without any scars. I have been spending loads of time in the sun, (then again - I don't think that there is a way to hide from it) and was worried that my skin was going to suffer with loss of moisture, so I have been religious in putting cream on daily, especially when I get out from the pool. I love how little of the product you need, to cover a vast space, it has definitely improved my skin's elasticity and overall appearance. It looks a lot more healthy, bright and moisturized.
