i received the serum as part of the cream i bought in the gift pack. i struggle with dry skin mostly in winter so i use Hydra Quench in winter and Multi Active in summer. i only use the serum at night before the night cream and its great - my skin feels soft and moisturized but i wake up in the morning with an oily nose and chin. its a lovely serum and smooths on well and seeps into the skin really fast. my skin does feel a bit tight after i have smoothed it in but i follow with the night cream. personally i started loving the double serum much more.

As I have mentioned, I am experiencing increasingly dehydrated skin through this dry spell that we are currently going through. So after my previous Clarins success, I was on a bit of a high and decided to take to their stand for my next experiment. I am so glad that I chose to start by going through my mother-in-law's cabinet, as this could have ended it a horrible and most expensive disaster. You see, this is her go-to-brand and she highly recommends anything Clarins. Her Clarins collection is most impressive as it begins with skincare and ends in cosmetics! But this proves my points that no product is for everyone and that it is VERY important to ask for samples before spending R670 on a product! Moisturizing lotions were clearly not working, so I turned to a serum for a change. Compliments to the refreshing scent of this product and the lovely texture when applied. It isn't too thick and honestly does provide the quench that my skin so desperately needs, but the rather unfortunate reaction was this intense burning that I experienced on my forehead, around my eye area and cheeks. It started with a strange sensation but before long I found myself rushing to the bathroom to scrub off the substance that I had just applied. Unfortunately, it was too late and the burning sensation continued for a few hours. I eased the feeling by applying ice and this also reduced any redness and puffiness caused by the reaction.
