I was excited to try the Dark and Lovely waterless scalp wash as I usually avoid washing my hair when I have braids on. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
I firstly snipped off the nozzle top with scissors and began dabbing the liquid around my head. I was sceptical about the snipped off nozzle at first, because it makes the product seem cheap, however, it turned out to be quite useful.
It made placing the scalp wash around my scalp easy. It also ensured that I did not squirt too much of the liquid.
I left it in for a few minutes, then began to dab with a cotton pad. There wasn’t much excess liquid on my scalp. I’m not sure if this is because I put too little of the liquid, or the liquid was doing a good job of cleaning my scalp.
As a black girl, I am generally sceptical about any type of washing that does not involve a lot of water. To be honest, my scalp did not feel clean, but the scalp wash helped to relieve the itchiness of my scalp.
Would I purchase the product? No. I would rather get an anti-itch spray and wash my hair when I remove my braids.
