I'm a firm believer of nature providing the solution to every problem concerning, superficial or otherwise. Which is why,it baffles me when im standing in line at a Click's store in the area only to be at the end of a queue with women infront of me struglling to carry the carry the bottles of various hair brand products with the belief that these products will be the solution to their hair concerns.
For as long as I can remember, my long, black, straight silky hair was always something I've been proud, it was something that always boosted my self -esteem ( especially through my awkward,-adolescent-acne-phase), and as much as I'd like to attribute my healthy hair to my excellent North Indian genes, I'd be lying if I said that having my hair oiled with Parachute 100% pure coconut oil once a week ever since I was 6, made no contribution to the health and condition of my scalp and hair.
The best method of preparing the oil for use I've found is:
To boil water
Then pour this boiled water in a bowl deep enough for the coconut oil boil to stand in,
Thereafter insert your closed bottle of coconut oil into the boiled water
Wait for the coconut oil to melt and warm up to a temperature youre comfortable with and that your skin and scalp can tolerate comfortably
Application:
Rub this oil into your scalp and hair and for best results, leave overnight.
The next morning, just follow your hair cleansing routine as usual, although your hair require shampooing more than once to remove the excess oil.
I must admit however, i am not a fan of the smell of coconut oil, but this problem can easily be solved by wrapping your hair up in a scarf or hair wrap (even an old laddered pair of pantihose works great!) ? This also prevents the oil from seeping i to your linen whilst sleeping.
Overall, its an excellent product. Its worked well for me over the years. And when i dont oil my hair, i do feel a not-so-good difference in the texture of my hair
Due to the fact that it is 100% pure and contains no chemicals ,depending on the condition of your hair, the length of time required for a noticeable difference to occur varies. The more damaged or dry your hair is, the longer it will take , and the more applications it will require, for the coconut oil to work.
Whether you have frizzy, coarse, dry, damaged hair, tight scalp, dandruff or would just like to improve the current overall condition of your hair, coconut oil in my opinion is one of the greatest weapons on combatting these problems.
Its affordable, easily available, very effective and 100% natural, so unless youre allergic to coconut oil, if it does no good for you, it definitely wont do any bad. I wont recommend this product toany specific kind of women,I recommend it for ALL women, because which woman wouldnt want beautiful hair naturally and affordably???
NB Although Ive specifically mentioned Parachute 100% pure coconut oil, any brand of coconut oil, provided it is 100% pure , is just as effective.
I hope my review has assured you that there is an effective solution to your hair concerns, and that what I'Ve suggested helps at least one woman reading this.
